My current research is mainly in the research project MAGIC. It focuses on the nexus between water-energy-food and land uses, and on the multi-scale connections between water governance, socioeconomic and eco-hydrological processes. I am particularly interested in transdisciplinary practices and the integration of quantitative analytical methods in participatory research processes such as citizen science or action-research.
Other research interests encompass modelling river basins as socio-ecological systems, assessment of water policies, collaborative management and the role of ICTs in enhancing deliberation and decision-making in new models of participatory governance. At a practitioner level, I am a faithful advocate of open knowledge, open science, and open ideologies in general.
